Starlight on the Piano Keys

The stage lights felt like a thousand suns beating down on me. My fingers, which had danced confidently over these same piano keys at home, now felt like frozen twigs. The annual school music competition was supposed to be my moment, but as I sat on the polished bench, all I could hear was the frantic drumming of my own heart.
